The Middle Mile Network Design
In the past few years, we have seen explosive growth of broadband around the US into traditionally underserved markets. Full Span Solutions has been establishing the middle mile and IP transit connectivity for several of these ISP customers. We had the opportunity to work with exospec in Columbus Ohio to establish multiple 100Gigabit per second wavelength circuits between their growth target areas and four major internet hub data centers in the northeast. This design allows exospec’s fiber to the home (FTTH) network to connect upstream to multiple IP transit carriers and internet exchanges. This design will ensure network diversity and low latency. In turn, the 200,000 projected homes and businesses will have a premium user experiance.
The exospec network design demanded reliability and capacity day one. Our team was able to qualify locations, review fiber paths, and work with an underlying service provider to establish the wavelength network. With the solution designed the Full Span Solutions team was then able to negotiate pricing and terms to ensure exospec would be able to maximize their connectivity investment.
What’s Next for exospec?
Exospec is showing no signs of slowing its expansion and Sure Fiber looks forward to helping in these efforts. In addition, exospec will be opening colocation space and offering nationwide connectivity services through its core network as well. Historically exospec has been a strong reseller of software and hardware and provides IT security and consulting services.
